Share Facts Save Lives
Share Facts Save Lives is an educational initiative that provides clear, evidence-based information about substance use disorders, harm reduction, treatment options, recovery support, and the role of stigma in preventing people from seeking help. The initiative was launched by AMHC through the Aroostook Community Opioid Response Program (ACORP), a regional partnership supported by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) grant.
What began as a concept outlined in a grant proposal and program work plan evolved into a comprehensive communications platform reaching individuals, families, and community partners across the region. VC Print developed the initiative’s name, visual identity, and communications framework, creating a unified platform spanning web, print, and digital outreach. The result was a clear and accessible source of information designed to improve understanding of substance use disorders, reduce stigma, and connect people with reliable information and resources.
The Challenge
At the start of the project, there was no established name, visual identity, or central location for information. Educational content and resource materials were scattered and difficult for community members to find, understand, or share. There was a clear need for a single, approachable presence that could present facts about substance use disorders in accessible language, address stigma without blame or judgment, and help individuals and families understand where to turn for support. VC Print was engaged to develop this early concept into a recognizable initiative that people could trust and use with confidence.

Project Highlights
The Share Facts Save Lives initiative grew from an early concept into a comprehensive communications platform designed to deliver clear, evidence-based information about substance use disorders. VC Print developed the initiative’s name, visual identity, and communications framework, then extended that foundation across the website, educational content, social media outreach, and print materials. Each component was designed to present complex topics in accessible language, reduce stigma through respectful messaging, and provide individuals and families with a reliable place to learn, understand options, and find support.
VC Print developed the name Share Facts Save Lives and created a visual identity built on calm colors, straightforward typography, and clear iconography. The name emphasizes the importance of reliable information and the role that sharing facts can play in preventing harm and supporting recovery. The logo was designed as a simple symbol representing communication and information sharing, reinforcing the initiative’s focus on education and awareness. Colors were drawn from the existing AMHC palette to maintain visual alignment with the organization while allowing the initiative to stand as a recognizable resource in its own right. Special care was taken to avoid imagery commonly associated with substance use, such as drugs, needles, or people actively using. Instead, the visual system focuses on clarity, dignity, and approachability. This direction allowed the initiative to address difficult topics without reinforcing stigma or sensationalizing the issue.
The Share Facts Save Lives website was developed as the initiative’s central hub, serving as the primary location for education about substance use and community resources. VC Print structured the site around how individuals and families search for help, organizing content to guide visitors from understanding substance use and recognizing warning signs to exploring treatment options, recovery support, and harm reduction strategies. Educational information was organized into clearly defined topic areas to make complex public health information easier to navigate and understand.
Content development required extensive research and careful language choices. Information was sourced and verified using established experts and public health resources focused on substance use disorder prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction. The process also involved learning terminology and messaging approaches used by people in recovery and professionals in the field to ensure that language across the platform remained respectful, accurate, and aligned with current best practices.
The site ultimately grew into a comprehensive educational platform containing dozens of structured pages addressing prevention, treatment pathways, recovery support, harm reduction strategies, and the role stigma plays in preventing people from seeking help. Social media outreach, print materials, and community education efforts consistently direct audiences back to the website, reinforcing its role as the central location for deeper information and next steps.
The Share Facts Save Lives brand was extended to include coordinated print pieces, digital graphics, and promotional materials for community outreach and events. This included developing more than 100 social media graphics across a wide range of topics, including prevention and stigma reduction, recovery support, and Alcohol Use Disorder education. Each asset was developed using consistent language and visual standards to ensure the initiative felt unified rather than fragmented. In addition to content creation, VC Print managed paid social media campaigns, overseeing aspects of scheduling, budget allocation, and performance reporting during the final year of grant-supported outreach. Social media efforts reinforced the initiative’s educational mission and directed audiences back to the website for deeper information and resources.
Impact & Results
Long-Term Partnership
Share Facts Save Lives was initially supported by the federal Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) grant and launched as a structured education and stigma-reduction initiative. Following the conclusion of the original grant period, the communications framework remained in place and continued to support outreach efforts. In 2025, the website expanded to include additional Alcohol Use Disorder education and was formally positioned as a program of AMHC, strengthening brand alignment while maintaining its established visual identity and messaging standards. The communications framework developed for Share Facts Save Lives remains in place, providing a lasting foundation that can support continued outreach whenever resources and priorities align.
